It also includes the Toll Gate House , a transportation museum featuring toll houses, keepers and artifacts dating to the 1800’s.

This weekend of activities, hands-on workshops and lectures are designed for the whole family with topics like animal husbandry, gardening, orchard care, butchering, food preservation, sewing for kids, beekeeping and pollinators, herbal medicinals, and so much more.

The Kentucky Back Country Horsemen’s Association will hold its annual meet up at Quiet Woods Green River Stables at Green River Lake State Park in Campbellsville on Saturday, June 4 .

Here’s your chance to hear first-hand about the trail experiences of long-term BCHA member Roy Cornett, who has ridden and explored trails all over the country, and to enjoy riding with fellow horsemen and outdoors enthusiasts.

Quiet Woods Stables is a horse and RV campground located about a mile from Green River Lake with over 17 acres of woods and more than 30 miles of equestrian, hiking and biking trails. All types of RVs, campers and horse trailers are welcome, with comfortable accommodations for you and your equine friends:

Clay Hill Memorial Forest – hiking in a natural, sustained habitat.

With four hiking trails covering almost six miles, the trails in Clay Hill Memorial Forest range in difficulty from easy to challenging and are well maintained with clear markings and informational signage. The forest is an invaluable resource for studying many biological habitats including an old pond, springs, streams, native plants and a relatively mature forest.

Managed by Campbellsville University as a regional center for environmental education, Clay Hill is a 305-acre learning and research woodland. The Center includes the Joan White Howell Environmental Education Center , a modern fully equipped teaching/laboratory facility, as well as the Kentucky Utilities Alternative Energy Facility , a hands-on facility for children that demonstrates how electricity is made from solar and wind energy.

Also within the Clay Hill Center, the Ken Weddle Center for Sight Impaired Children features hands-on exhibits including a sculpted bench made of clay, sand, and straw to help impaired students see with their hands.

Homeplace at Green River – Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom

The trailhead at Homeplace at Green River is the perfect entrance to the seven miles of trails surrounding this 227-acre homeplace that has been a working farm for over 200 years. Trails winding through the adjacent Tebbs Bend Battlefield and nature area and along Green River and the forests surrounding the farm offer a choice of distances and levels of difficulty and varied environments.

The Homeplace at Green River has been farmed continuously since 1803. With its commitment to sustainable farming practices and conservation, The Homeplace works with Kentucky's Department of Agriculture, the University of Kentucky, The Nature Conservancy, and The Natural Resources Conservation Service and has been designated through a resolution by the Kentucky Senate as Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom . This valuable education resource focuses on the local agricultural heritage and encourages fitness activities and interaction with nature.

Children’s Parade . Prizes will be awarded to the most festive entries.

One of the biggest and most traditional of Campbell Ky events, the annual 4 th of July

parade is a tradition not to be missed. Thousands turn out to view floats, fire engines,

Shriners, horses and everyone who wants to show their patriotism and love for our

A family-owned and operated business for over 60 years, Penn’s is home to the Kentucky State Fair Million Dollar Ham !

The farm has been in the Penn family since the land was granted to Colonel Gabriel Penn in the early 1800’s for military service in Virginia during the American Revolutionary war. The family began curing and providing hams in their retail store in the mid 1800’s. Penn’s Country Hams cured products are still made the old-fashioned way.
