Taylor Regional Archive Center

The Taylor Regional Archive Center (TRAC) in Kentucky serves as a hub for preserving local history and genealogy. It offers a wide range of resources, including:


  • Genealogy and family records, including early records from colonial states.
  • African American genealogy records, family files, obituary collections, and more.
  • Information on local veterans, churches, leaders, and entrepreneurs.
  • Taylor County history, newspapers on microfilm, and records of local government, businesses, churches, schools, and events.
  • Civil War history, including research on John Hunt Morgan and Michigan's Orlando Moore.
  • A comfortable research environment with access to genealogists and online resources.
  • Handicap accessible facilities, free WiFi, and copying/scanning services.
  • Open hours from Tuesday to Saturday, with arrangements for out-of-town researchers.
