Throughout Campbellsville and Taylor County and around beautiful Green River Lake State Park and areas along historic Tebbs Bend Battlefield, over 50 miles of scenic nature trails are the reason that Campbellsville is a designated Kentucky Trail Town. Autumn is a great time to experience Campbellsville outdoor activities, and Green River Lake State Park trails are perfect for horseback riding, bird watching and just being in nature.


Green River Lake Wildlife Management area and the region surrounding Campbellsville and Taylor County are known for wildlife and scenic rolling hills, making the perfect environment for hunting deer, pheasant, squirrel and other species. In fact, Kentucky is a top 10 state for buck trophy hunting and Campbellsville hunting locales are among the best. Make sure your license is up to date and that you are aware of regulations, seasons and where you can legally hunt within the Green River Lake Wildlife Management area and statewide.

Speaking of trails, Campbellsville is part of the Kentucky Main Street Peppermint Trail, an initiative to increase community support around the holiday season to small towns, local businesses and artisans, and the fun is about to begin with Campbellsville KY events and festivities. Or find Santa at The Messy Bun Restaurant on November 9, 2pm to 4 pm and again on December 7 from 3pm until 5 pm for photos and memorable family fun.


Top off the day with spirited drinks at one of Campbellsville’s night spots like the Bourbon Boutique for Kentucky’s favorite beverage, the East First Street Brewery for original craft beers and Oak & Match for a “speak easy” style cocktail.


Santa’s Candy Land Parade, the official start of Christmas in Campbellsville


Mark your calendar to kick off the Christmas season at the Santa’s Candy Land Parade Saturday December 7 at 6 pm, a favorite among Campbellsville KY events. Start the day off with the Tri-County Club Christmas Charity Car Cruise from 3pm until 6pm, then join in the holiday parade festivities with hot chocolate, lights, music, floats, food trucks and, of course, Santa Claus.
