Planning Fall Fun in Central Kentucky
It’s time to focus your peepers on the beautiful fall foliage and make plans for some inspiring days of fun, history and heritage in Campbellsville and Central Kentucky.
Campbellsville never disappoints with outdoor adventure and activities, everything from hiking, walking or horseback riding on more than 50 miles of trails that earned its designation as the Campbellsville Kentucky trail town to more than 21,000 acres for hunting deer, turkey, quail, squirrel, dove and waterfowl, as well as excellent Central Kentucky fishing around Green River Lake.
Autumn is the best time of year to explore and to experience some of Campbellsville KY events and absorb the history and heritage around this beautiful 200-year-old Kentucky college town.
Let’s get into the swing of Fall on October 10 with some spirited Bluegrass music at Pickin’ in the Park, an annual music and family fun event, featuring some good ole Kentucky tunes by Jim and Valerie Gabehart and band, a fantastic Kentucky Bluegrass musical duo. The whole family will enjoy a day of pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, and an improv show by the Campbellsville University Harlequins.
Homeplace on Green River and The National Preparedness Network will host the 4th annual Heartland Homesteading Conference, Friday October 24 through Sunday October 26. This weekend of activities, hands-on workshops and lectures are designed for the whole family with topics like animal husbandry, gardening, orchard care, butchering, food preservation, sewing for kids, beekeeping and pollinators, herbal medicinals, and so much more.
Be sure to register for the conference early and make your reservations at one of Campbellsville’s lodging choices so that you can enjoy the entire weekend.
Homeplace on Green River has been a working farm for over 200 years and, as Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom, provides a scenic and inspiring backdrop for learning about Kentucky agritourism in Campbellsville.
Homeplace on Green River is bordered by the historic Tebbs Bend Battlefield, with historic structures, markers and a memorial paying tribute to Campbellsville, Kentucky roles in Civil War history.
While you’re in town, stop by for some spooky fun on October 25th at Heart of Kentucky’s Spooktactular Extravaganza, an afternoon for shopping, trick or treating, music and of course…food!
You can’t get enough Trick or Treating! Downtown Campbellsville Mainstreet will host your little ghosts and goblins on October 31, from 3:00 – 5:00.
Save November 1 for a day of fantasy and fun.
Who doesn’t love fairies and here’s a chance to dress-up in your fairy finest for Fairies on the Farm at Homeplace on Green River. This family-friendly day is filled with fairy arts and crafts, story time, pony rides and even a Fairy Dance!
Or, enjoy a day-long celebration of Native American history and heritage at The Tipi Village – experience native food and crafts, dancers, musicians and learn about the culture of the first people in North America.
